NATIONAL GRID CUSTOMERS: Speak up … don’t let them jack up your rates!
Call the Public Service Commission toll-free at 1-800-656-6822 and tell them to reject National Grid’s huge electric and gas rate hike proposal! Sample script: Hello, my name is ___________. I’m calling about the National Grid electric and gas utility rate hikes, cases 17-E-0238 and 17-G-0239. National Grid’s plan would send rates sky high at a time when we’re already seeing additional charges tacked onto our bill to fund other energy projects. Please give ratepayers a break and reject this proposal. This hits seniors hard and marginalizes their well-being.

The Trump administration is pushing to scrap a rule that would have made it easier for nursing home residents to sue nursing homes for injuries caused by substandard care, abuse or neglect, bringing its campaign to relax federal regulations to the delicate business of care for older Americans.
The push would undo a rule issued by the Obama administration that would have prevented nursing homes from requiring that consumers agree to resolve any disputes through arbitration rather than litigation. The St. Lawrence County Chapter (SLCC) #2831 is a community of advocacy and volunteers whose purpose is to 1) promote at the local level the priorities, programs and policies specific for the benefit of our seniors, 2) maximize member engagement in a broad menu of services, information and educational activities, 3) demonstrate the contributions and potential of people who are 50+ to encourage their full participation in contemporary life, 4) create fundraising opportunities to achieve self-sufficiency, and 5) stimulate public interest in a variety of issues.
